Japanese football club Tegevajaro Miyazaki has announced former international soccer player Masato Kudo dies at the age of 32.

He was hospitalized earlier this month after being diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a build-up of fluids within the brain.

Kudo scored six times in 12 appearances for Kashiwa Reysol as they reached the final of the Asian Champions League in 2013.

"We are devastated that such a great player has died so soon," Tegevajaro Miyazaki said in a statement.
