Dan McCafferty, lead original vocalist of hard rock band Nazareth, died on Tuesday, November 8 at the age of 76.

McCafferty who voiced 1970s rock classics “Love Hurts” and “Hair of the Dog,” died from unspecified causes.

Pete Agnew, the band's bassist, announced Tuesday on the Nazareth Facebook page that McCafferty died "at 12:40 today."

McCafferty was a founding member of Nazareth, which was formed in Dunfermline, Scotland in 1968.
